The vestiges of the town of Solunto are 20 km east of Palermo. It flourished in the Hellenic and Roman periods. The site where it was founded on Monte Catalfano had been occupied by the Phoenicians. There are still parts of the town which remain unearthed. You can wander along the Roman thoroughfare, paved side streets and admire mosaics floors of some houses and the mosaics at Casa di Leda.
